Maybe it is not fair to speak in terms of favorites, but Danaway Painted Lady – Lady – is definitely my favorite. She stole my heart from day one and every day my love for her grows.
In the summer of 2013 I was slowly looking for another top quality broodmare for my small stud. My eye felt on an advert of a mare with an amazing pedigree, but absolute not the best photo you could advertise with. If you didn’t see the bloodlines you would have scrolled further down the page. But for me only her pedigree was worth enough to drive from The Netherlands to England to visit her. I felt immediately in love with this little, sabino chestnut colored beauty! And she could move too (not completely surprising with Prince of Wales Cup winner Danaway Tango as her sire)! I haven’t thought about it for a long time, I knew she needed to come ‘home’ with me. Every day I feel so lucky to have such a mare in my field and I am so glad that I have made the decision to drive to England to have a look at her. Wow what a mare! She is a real sweetheart, loves to cuddle and she is always in the mood to give one hell of a show. Bone, massiveness, movements, elegance and beauty in one horse. For me she is perfect in every way!
Lady is by the amazing Danaway Tango and out of the gorgeous Treforrest Ribbon, that makes her 3/4 sister to the 2012 RWAS winner Danaway Cracklin-Rose and the 2012 RWAS barren mare class winner Danaway Rosa!
7 April 2015 – Alura Brunotti – Buckskin colt with 4 whites and a blaze by Taraco Fiasco.
Unfortunately Lady and I needed to say goodbye to this gorgeous and massive
boy way too early. He died the same day as the day he was born.
